Silent Hill: Personalities of terror
Silent Hill, No two simple words, a simple name of a people, had so much meaning hidden within. Suffice to say those two words for any gamer on your mind conjures up many disturbing scenes, looking in his eyes how his worst nightmares came true bizarre and unexpected ways. And is that Silent Hill is a franchise that, regardless of the ups and downs and unfairness, has always maintained a high level of quality, inviting players to immerse themselves in a psychological nightmare universe in which everything is possible and nothing is what it seems. A franchise that leaves an indelible mark on the subconscious of the user, hard cover with other titles.
So much so that even fans of a particular title to be displayed suspicious of other supplies, always pay attention to new listings, as the potential of the franchise is such that it is possible that a new chapter is flush with the game dazzled them. Silent Hill is one of the most important works in the history of Konami, and it shows the release fluid delivery in recent times: 8 main deliveries in just over a decade, the latest of which comes precisely this year to market and recently announced its official name, Downpour. Before revisiting the damn town, it's time to look back and take a tour to serve as tribute to the history of a people who have marked a before and after in the world of videogames.
What better way to review the installments of the franchise that have been set up to date through its characters, heroes and anti-heroes of tormented psyche should face their problems as best we can with the sole purpose of getting out alive nightmare environment were presented. And, besides the setting, is the strong argument that most marked players. Discover all when viewed in the atmosphere is only the iconic representation of the obsessions and the elements that haunt the characters is merely the climax of many of the supplies, especially when you discover its secrets and shady all comes a sense unexpected and somewhat worrying.

What is the whole story of Silent Hill Game Series?
It's a great game, but I can't catch the connection between the series, Please I would like to know about the story or is there any Novel or book can I buy to understand the Story.
Taking into account the gentleman above's excellent recounting of the history of the town, allow me to enlighten you a little on the basic plots of each, without revealing too much, of course.
There are six games in the Main Series, which go as follows (in chronological order):
Silent Hill: Origins (2008)
Silent Hill (1999)
Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams (2001)
Silent Hill 3 (2002)
Silent Hill 4: The Room (2004)
Silent Hill: Homecoming (2009)
Now let's code each game, so we have a basic idea of what we're talking about without having to resort to the tedious typing of the game again. Let's call Silent Hill: Origins = SHO, Silent Hill = SH, Silent Hill 2 = SH2, Silent Hill 3 = SH3, Silent Hill 4 = SH4, and Silent Hill: Homecoming = SHH. Simple, ay? Good, then we can begin:
We'll start with the outlining of each character:
SHO = TRAVIS GRADY. Travis is a lone trucker with a shady past who stumbles across Silent Hill after driving his truck in the fog. He enters Silent Hill before the events of the original Silent Hill.
SH = HARRY MASON. Harry is the original Silent Hill protagonist. He enters Silent Hill looking for his daughter Cheryl, who mysteriously disappeared when Harry crashed his car.
SH2 = JAMES SUNDERLAND. James goes to Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his supposedly dead wife asking him to look for her in their 'special place'. James is racked with guilt over the death of his wife, Mary, and this is a major factor you need to look for when looking at the main story of the series.
SH3 = HEATHER MASON. The daughter of SH's Harry gets drawn to Silent Hill in a series of unexplained events. Harry makes a second appearance in this game, however his cameo is short-lived.
SH4 = HENRY TOWNSHEND. Perhaps the strangest of the six Silent Hill games is SH4. Henry discovers Silent Hill after crawling through a hole that mysteriously appears in his bathroom. As the game progresses, this hole gets gradually larger and more intimidating.
SH5 = ALEX SHEPARD. Alex is a veteran of war, who returns home to the town of Shepard's Glen, to look for his missing brother Joshua, and to care for his recently catatonic mother. He enters Silent Hill, which neighbors Shepard's Glen, with his intentions in mind.
So that's the characters. There are good reasons that a main character does not appear as a protagonist twice in one game. One could be that aside from Harry Mason, we are never actually sure whether any character lives or dies at the end of a Silent Hill game, due to the varied and multiple endings a character can receive. Another reason, is that developers Team Silent and Climax Group will no doubt want to give a different view on the village. And this is where the storyline gets good: In each Silent Hill game you may notice a change in design in the monsters you have to face. This is not simply Konami wanting to redesign their creatures. This is a direct link to the protagonists you control. The monsters very often only appear exclusively to your player, because of what they are feeling at the time. If we take for example, James Sunderland from SH2. There are two monsters we can give as an example here. The first are the nurses you encounter in the hospital, known as 'Bubble Head Nurses' in this game. They have appeared in every single Silent Hill game before and afterwards, but in SH2 they are portrayed in a sexual manner, with low cut tops to display cleavage, and short skirts also. This is to express James' sexual deprivation now his wife has passed away. The other monster we can look at is the now infamous Pyramid Head (who also appeared in SHH under the name 'The Bogeyman'). Pyramid Head was placed in SH2 for a number of reasons. The first is to represent James' own guilt at the death of his wife (a second Pyramid Head later in the game presumabley represents the guilt of the death of Eddie Lombowski). But sexual deprivation again plays a part here, what with Pyramid Head's reputation for sexual abuse to other monsters.
Another factor important to the storyline and linking into the previous point is the Otherworld. This world appears in all six games, but changes according again to what the protagonist's history is, and why they are there. For example, in SHH, the Otherworld is portrayed as very damp, dirty, and industrial, with blood-stained walls, corpses, and crude boards on doors and windows. In SH2 however, more black and blue shades are used to give a miserable gloomy effect, mirrored by James' own feelings. Again, sexual deprivation can be perceived, with many of James' Otherworld walls simply covered in flesh.
