Growing video games industry
Video games have been around for awhile contrary to what some think is a very recent emergence. You can learn more about that if you're interested when you read the Wikipedia article by clicking on VIDEO GAMES since that is not really the topic of this blog post. The invention of the computer and the Internet has given rise to huge and increasing popularity of video games in the last two decades in particular. A Google search for the words video games yields 265,000,000 results. Popular? There are some who are convinced that given current trends, video games will overtake movies in sales in the not too distant future. If it happens, that's pretty amazing given the time movies have been around versus video games.
Growing Video Games craze
I recently asked a few friends why they like video games so much. One said they like them because the could play with anyone in the world. They like sharpening their skills and learning new ways to beat the game (formerly known as win) from some really good players without having to go anywhere. Realism was another thing I heard. These games are becoming increasingly realistic. Sure, that point has it's critics. Some of these critics claim that video games are destroying an entire generation. Like some other things, video games can be addicting to those prone to that. Again, that's not my purpose here. I just wanted to put it out there and say that I'm aware of these issues with video games.
Another thing I heard was the adrenaline rush some of these video games can give. These guys really get into their game, so much so that they get a rush and they like it....a lot. One person said it was a good escape from some pretty rough times at work and personal issues. Whatever YOUR rationale for liking to play video games, I have a question:
